For generations, leadership has been equated with toughness. But there’s a rising movement — led by women who lead with presence, emotional awareness, and intuitive insight. This is soft power — the strength that comes from deep internal alignment, not dominance.
Soft power is about knowing yourself so well, you don’t need to prove anything. It’s about presence, not performance. And it starts with your body. Embodiment practices teach you to listen to your felt sense — the subtle emotional and physical cues that offer wisdom before the mind even catches up.
Somatic Practice: Centering with the Felt Sense
Purpose: To enhance emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and grounded decision-making.
Step-by-Step:
- Find a quiet space and sit or lie down comfortably.
- Close your eyes and bring your attention to your body.
- Ask yourself: “What am I feeling right now?” — not thoughts, but sensations (tightness, warmth, tingling, pressure).
- Allow the sensation to be there without judgment. Breathe into the area where it lives.
- Ask, “What does this part of me need?” and just listen.
- Sit with whatever arises, breathing slowly, for 3–5 minutes.
This practice deepens your relationship with your body’s wisdom, allowing you to respond (not react) in your leadership and your life.
